Gateway V - Bertin Exensor

Gateway V

The Gateway V connects Flexnet with external network cameras, such as remotely controlled Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) control cameras and radars.

The Gateway V is an extended Gateway with a storage module, a dedicated processor for video compression and analysis, and offering various backbone communication solutions. It has a secondary Ethernet port and a serial input for connecting other devices such as radars, sensors and third-party cameras.

The Gateway V shares all existing Gateway features, including both short-range and long-range radios. The short-range radio communicates in a mesh network with any of the deployed sensors and the long-range radio communicates with other Gateways to relay sensors’ data and imagery at extended ranges. Triggered by a sensor alarm the Gateway V can activate a third-party PTZ allowing it to “slew to cue” providing imagery of the area of interest. By connecting an external modem to the Gateway V, streaming video can be transmitted over a 3G/4G network, via satellite communication or other backbone IP radio networks. In a network-denied situation or during a covert operation, the videos can be locally stored and retrieved later.
