Our journey
Founded in 1987, Bertin Exensor began as a provider of wired perimeter protection systems for the Swedish Armed Forces. In the late 1990s, Bertin Exensor launched the development of the advanced UMRA wireless sensor concept with the ability to identify military-type vehicles using a combination of seismic, acoustic and magnetic sensors. In 2004, after years of project management and interaction with military personnel, Bertin Exensor won a major contract with the German Army to supply 600 UGS systems to be integrated into the Fennek armored reconnaissance vehicles. This contract marked the beginning of an intense development period. In 2008, the Flexnet Unattended Ground Sensor platform was introduced to the market. Since then, Flexnet has been successfully delivered to more than 20 countries worldwide. Bertin Exensor, with its headquarters located in Lund, Sweden, and main production site in Basingstoke, UK, is widely regarded as the the world-leading providers of UGS systems, supplying both civilian and military customers, with state-of-the-art, rugged protection and surveillance solutions.
